Additional Programs

We are continuously finding new ways to increase mobility.

Ride Connection provides services that meet the unique needs of our community. In addition to our core programs, we provide the following services:

Ride Together Mileage Reimbursement

This program empowers riders to recruit their own drivers. Each driver with the Ride Together program is reimbursed for miles driven. Customers schedule their rides directly with their drivers at times that work for both parties. Available in Multnomah and Washington Counties for older adults and people with disabilities. Call 503.226.0700 to get started.

Medical Shuttle Pilot Program

Ride Connection has partnered with Providence Health and Services to address the growing need for rides to medical appointments. Through an advisory committee and input from clinicians, drivers and customers, Ride Connection designed a shuttle that has been implemented as a pilot program in Mid-Multnomah County.

The shuttle serves individuals in Mid-County traveling to and from Providence Medical Center in Northeast Portland on Mondays and Tuesdays. To find out more call 503.226.0700.

Shared Vehicle Program

The shared vehicle program was implemented in order to utilize our vehicles to their full potential. We offer a vehicle to individuals, agencies or groups when they are not in use, primarily on the weekends.

We provide the vehicle and the necessary driver training and you provide the driver. Our buses and vans seat up to 14 people so your driver is not required to have a special license. For more information, contact Dean Orr at or 503.528.1752.

Veterans Helping Veterans

Helping veterans and their spouses gain access to transportation by recruiting volunteer drivers who are veterans themselves. To volunteer, call 503.528.1738. To access service call 503.226.0700.

Access Transit: Fare Relief

To assist in increasing the number of low-income clients served, this program provides grants of up to $25,000 in TriMet fares for qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit and Community Based Organizations (CBOs). Ride Connection administers the program and awards the grants to qualified organizations. Find more information and apply.

Dialysis Transportation

With a grant from the Administration for Community Living, Ride Connection started this program as a pilot called 'Dahlia' in order to address the needs of individuals who need regular transportation to dialysis treatments. Ride Connection uses volunteer and paid drivers to provide frequent rides for dialysis treatments in addition to educating the community and healthcare providers. Call 503.226.0700  or click here to learn more about the original pilot program.
