To create independence and community connections through travel options.
We prioritize creating a culture and environment in which we:
We Welcome Everyone.
Today and every day, Ride Connection provides transportation options to individuals in need. From older adults to people with disabilities to low-income individuals and underserved communities, we are able to provide essential transportation services thanks to the work and support of our staff, volunteers, partners donors and advocates. Our services bring together friends and family, prevent social isolation, alleviate financial stress and create new connections that strengthen our community. Ride Connection remains committed to providing inclusive transportation options for all individuals in need in the tri-county area.
We recognize the history of oppression, which has resulted in ongoing disparities based upon race, gender, perceived abilities, religion, culture, economic status, age, and more. We work to acknowledge and address these disparities by creating a culture of inclusion, respect, and authenticity. As a non-profit we understand there are barriers to changing this within the larger context of systemic oppression.
Our mission, vision and values guide our work. The commitment of the Board of Directors and Staff to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility within this framework is unwavering and a priority in all that we do.
Our commitment is ongoing and actionable, reflected in changes to organizational structure, policies, program enhancements, retention practices, including staff and board representation of the communities we serve.
Ride Connection is a private, non-profit organization based in Portland, Oregon. We offer ways for people to access the goods and services they need to survive and thrive. By giving people the means to get around, we offer independence, health, and inclusion.
The Ride Connection network is made up of a collection of agencies who serve older adults and people with disabilities as well as low-income individuals and general public by offering a variety of transportation options in Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington counties.
Together, we provide over 500,000 rides and support more than 2,000 individuals with training and access to public transportation each year.
