  • FT Driver - Glisan

    Location: NE Portland
    Classification: Full Time

    Do you have some time on your hands? Do you like driving? Do you want to give back to your community? We have a job for you. Ride Connection is seeking a Part-time Driver to provide safe, reliable and courteous transportation services to older adults and people with disabilities.  The driver will be working out of our Glisan Street office with the driving will be in the downtown Portland area. It is a full time position. We are looking for trustworthy, dependable driver with a sense of humor and passion for helping people in our community lead more independent lives. You only need a regular driver’s license, not a CDL. A Ride Connection application must be submitted.

    Required Qualifications:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Customer service experience
    • Ability to work as a team member with a diverse group of people
    • Ability to work independently
    • Able to maintain a driving record that meets or exceeds Ride Connection’s driver standards
    • Experience operating a large vehicle
    • Valid driver’s license with five years driving experience and excellent driving record as recorded by the Department of Motor Vehicles
    • Ability to pass a national criminal record check which may include fingerprint identification.
    • Must be able to speak and read English

    Preferred qualifications: 
    • Ability to speak other languages in addition to English
    • Experience working with older adults and people with disabilities
    • Knowledge of the geographic area

  • Controller

    At Ride Connection we’re passionate about moving people. Transportation lies at the heart of equity, allowing people access to the things they need to survive and thrive. Last year we provided over half a million free rides for older adults, people with disabilities, low-income individuals, rural residents and general public. We have built and continue to develop programs that allow us to provide the best option for each individual, suited to their level of need.

    The controller position is a confidential position who is accountable for certain fiscal operations of the company.  Responsibilities include:
    • Preparation of periodic financial reports
    • Maintenance of an strong internal control system
    • Compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and federal cost principles.
    • Preparation and monitoring of project and organizational budget
    • Financial analysis
    • Contract management and project forecasting
    • Payroll processing
    • Accounts receivable and accounts payable

    Required Qualifications: 
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.  CPA preferred
    • Knowledgeable and experienced with federal cost principles
    • Knowledgeable and experienced with fund and functional accounting principles
    • Impeccable analytical and organizational skills
    • Experience managing processes and policies
    • Experience in developing standards and/or metrics
    • At least one year supervisory experience with managing employee work assignments, work evaluation, problem resolution, motivation and development
    • Proven working experience within an accounting/fiscal department, within a management position

    Preferred Qualifications: 
    • Experience with government and foundation grants and transportation preferred
    • Experience within the transportation field
    • Experience working with older adults and people with disabilities
    • Experience and passion working for a Non-Profit organization

Ride Connection is seeking part-time Drivers for Washington County; including Hillsboro, Forest Grove, Tualatin and Beaverton. They will provide safe, reliable and courteous transportation services which may include older adults and people with disabilities. This position only requires a regular driver’s license. Shifts may start early in the morning and run until 10 pm, 7 days a week. Shifts will be created within those times. This position will have various hours depending on availability and location. We are looking for a trustworthy, dependable driver with a sense of humor and passion for helping people in our community lead more independent lives.
