Why volunteer?

The simple act of getting someone where they need to go can be an incredibly rewarding experience. We rely on caring and compassionate volunteer drivers to provide valuable rides to the people in our community who need it most.

Information About Driving

Driver Requirements

Each volunteer driver must:

  • Have had their driver’s license for 5 years or longer.

  • Pass a criminal background and DMV check.

  • Complete driver training courses (available in classroom or online).

Time Commitment

Volunteer drivers are asked to drive at least one hour per week during our typical hours of operation (Monday through Friday, 8am and 5pm). Volunteers can choose the hours that best work for them. A transportation coordinator will contact you weekly to schedule rides.

Location

You can choose where you would like to drive! Some volunteers choose to drive in their own neighborhood while others are comfortable driving in all areas of the tri-county region.
