Goal of the Project
The goal of the South Beaverton Transit Needs Analysis is to identify the need for transportation services in SW Beaverton and NW Tigard. Upon completion, the results of the Needs Analysis may be used in an application for funding to provide a dedicated transit service in SW Beaverton to complement existing TriMet bus routes.
The South Cooper Mountain area of SW Beaverton and the River Terrace neighborhoods of Tigard are currently experiencing significant growth, leading to an increase in new residents in the coming years whose transportation needs will need to be met.
Partnering agencies have identified the entire South Cooper Mountain area as having potential suitability for some form of transit connector service to provide connections not only to TriMet bus routes but also to the greater Beaverton and Tigard communities.
This area is currently not served by TriMet bus service, though TriMet has proposed to extend the Line 56 Scholls Ferry Road in the future.
Below is a map that outlines the project focus area.
